Veteran transactions attorney Kamaal Jones has landed his first chief legal officer post, and it's in the big leagues.

The new ownership of the Baltimore Orioles announced Tuesday that it has hired Jones away from Washington, D.C.-based Monumental Sports & Entertainment, owner of the NBA's Washington Wizards and the NHL's Washington Capitals and operator of Capital One Arena, where the two teams play. He's been with Monumental three years, most recently serving as senior vice president and associate general counsel.
