As GC of Habitat for Humanity International, Elizabeth K. Blake has traveled the world, ensuring that the organization's partners meet its high standards. The organization has built or rehabilitated more than 250,000 houses for low-income people since it was founded in 1976. Habitat occasionally engages outside counsel for pay, but also benefits from pro bono work contributed by a range of outside law firms and corporate law departments, which provided more than $1.5 million in free legal work last year.
