    A Counselor's Counselor

    Thorp Reed & Armstrong is a regional business law firm with offices in Pittsburgh, Philadelphia, Princeton, N.J., and Wheeling, W.Va. The firm has about 120 lawyers and more than 100 support staff. Mark F. Nowak splits his time between his roles as general counsel and construction litigator, arbitrator and mediator. He was appointed general counsel in 2005. When wearing that hat, Nowak said, he focuses on the legal and ethical aspects of the firm's practice.
