The clock has run out on a decade-long battle over the trademark “America’s Team,” with the National Football League’s Dallas Cowboys emerging victorious over America’s Team Properties, according to the U.S. district court in Dallas.

While explicitly saying that his ruling did not address whether the Cowboys are more deserving of the moniker than several other NFL franchises (including the Pittsburgh Steelers), Judge Ed Kinkeade ruled on March 30 that ATP must cancel the America’s Team trademark registrations it holds that were the subject of the litigation and cancel all applications for similar registrations.
