SAN FRANCISCO — One of Yahoo! Inc.’s top in-house lawyers is leaving the struggling Internet search company to help a leading New York law firm open its first office in northern California.
Duane Valz, associate general counsel of global patents at Yahoo, will be joining Chadbourne & Parke next month as it makes its first foray into the Bay Area. Valz said it was still unclear where the firm’s new office would be located: San Francisco or Silicon Valley.
