New York’s attorney general did not uncover significant wrongdoing in an 18-month investigation of the New York State Police. But the attorney general is looking into whether the former general counsel for the New York Power Authority obstructed the investigation, according to a report released September 8 by state Attorney General Andrew Cuomo.

The report lays out how top state police officials inappropriately aided political figures over the last 10 years. One of the central characters is Daniel Wiese, a former state police colonel who left in 2003 to work for the New York Power Authority.
