Austin, Texas-based Trilogy Inc. is the parent company of Trilogy Enterprises Inc. and Versata Enterprises Inc., the latter of which includes more than a dozen enterprise software and technology companies. Trilogy is privately held and does not reveal revenue but employs some 150 people in Austin; Bangalore, India; and Hangzhou, China. Most of the company’s technical employees work in Bangalore. Company founder and Chief Executive Officer Joe Liemandt dropped out of Stanford University in 1989 to found the company and moved it to Austin in 1992.
Trilogy develops software that businesses including Ford Motor Co., British Airways PLC and Hewlett-Packard Co. use to manage customer relationships, contracts and other business functions. Among Trilogy’s products are Nextance Contract Management, Versata Distribution Channel Management (DCM) and Versata Pricer. Telecommunications and automotive companies use Trilogy’s SmartLeads and Carbuy.com to develop leads on customers and drive sales.
