The music industry is singing a different and much less lucrative tune these days, thanks to the Internet and online piracy. So Warner Music Group Corporation has created a new top legal post based in London to help the company transform its business operations overseas.
Warner needed a music lawyer with years of international experience, and it managed to lure Chris Ancliff, general counsel at rival EMI Group Limited, to become the company’s new international GC. “I’m excited to be joining WMG at a time when the company is so focused on aggressively transforming its business,” Ancliff said in a press release.
