CHICAGO, January 15, 2010 — The Winston & Strawn Foundation announced today it is responding to the catastrophic earthquake that struck Haiti this week by donating $50,000 to Partners in Health, one of the largest public health organizations operating in the island nation that is already rushing medical assistance to Port au Prince and elsewhere. In addition, the foundation will match up to $25,000 in contributions from the firm’s attorneys and staff to relief efforts through Partners in Health, for a total contribution of up to $100,000.

The devastating 7.0 magnitude earthquake and many aftershocks flattened homes, businesses and offices in and around the capital city. Since the first reports came to the firm from the Partners in Health office there, it has been monitoring developments as humanitarian efforts were launched on a global scale to assess the greatest needs and to effectively respond to them as quickly as possible.
