Corporate legal departments are apparently more and more telling law firms: Look, forget it, you’re too expensive — we’ll just do the work in-house.

Altman Weil’s Chief Legal Officer Survey, released Wednesday, showed that sixty-three percent of the officers surveyed reported that they had increased their internal budgets from 2009 to 2010, and 29 percent claimed that they would decrease their use of outside firms in the coming year.
