He may once have dined on all-you- can-eat cheesecake, but Brett Hart has now traded in munchables for the friendly skies, taking on the top lawyer spot at the world’s largest air carrier. United Continental Holdings, Inc., reached deep into the cookie tin and grabbed Sara Lee Corporation’s top lawyer for its new general counsel. Hart started in his new post in mid-December.

Hart replaced Thomas Sabatino, Jr. , who announced his plan to parachute out of United Continental on October 1, the same day that the merger of the two airlines was finalized. Sabatino had been selected to head the merged airlines’ legal department, but a spokesperson told CorpCounsel.com at the time of his departure that he’d simply opted not to move forward with the merged company.
