Andrews Kurth has landed the former deputy general counsel of Sony Ericsson Mobile Communications Inc., as JAMES MAHON is now a partner with the firm’s intellectual property group. Resident in Washington, D.C., Mahon will represent large companies in patent disputes and in mediation, patent prosecution, patent portfolio development, trade secret, unfair competition, and general corporate matters. He had also served as Sony Ericsson’s head of global litigation.

Baker Botts has expanded its IP department with the addition of litigation partner MARK WHITAKER in Washington, D.C. Whitaker previously worked at Howrey, where he represented clients in electronics, telecommunications, chemical, and software process patent disputes and licensing campaigns.
