Thaddeus Bereday may have been gen eral counsel at WellCare Health Plans, Inc., but he isn’t feeling so good these days. That’s because he’s been charged by federal prosecutors with helping Tampa-based WellCare scam millions from Medicaid.
Bereday, 45, pled not guilty on March 10 in federal district court in Tampa. He surrendered his passport and was released on his own recognizance. His defense attorney, Jack Fernandez, Jr., of Zuckerman Spaeder, declined to comment. At press time Bereday’s trial was set for the week of May 2.
