As contributor Alan Cohen implies in his article in the July issue of Corporate Counsel about the magazine’s annual Survey of In-House Technology, there’s nothing like a global economic downturn to change ideas about where in-house legal departments think they’re going with technology. Software and gadget roll-outs turn into second looks, delays, and course changes as the priority shifts from increased productivity to increased cost savings. No surprises there, really. But some findings in the survey are unexpected — or, at least, they come as small surprises.
