Wilson Sonsini wants to be a little more hip, like the young entrepreneurs it represents.

So it’s opening an office in the Bay Area’s hottest locale for startups: SOMA. Partners Todd Carpenter, Rachel Proffitt and Mark Reinstra will do the same kind of work they usually do for startups, from financings to IPOs. But the 4,700-square-foot space on Townsend Street within walking distance of AT&T Park won’t be a typical law firm office. Instead, Wilson Sonsini Goodrich & Rosati wants to create a collaborative hub where entrepreneurs, angel investors and venture capitalists can meet to talk and even hammer out deals.
