General counsel are well-equipped to fight their own termination, as a former GC of the eco-friendly jewelry retailer Alex and Ani is proving with the net of claims he’s filed against the company.
Robert Rainville, a former candidate for attorney general in Rhode Island, had been Alex and Ani’s GC since 2011, according to Donita Naylor for the Providence Journal. Now, he’s fighting his own former department for breaching his contract and then terminating him in retaliation. Rainville says in the suit that he was promised a fat seven-digit bonus last year, writes Naylor.
