There are multiple laws and agencies that protect workers from employer retaliation, but you might not expect the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) to be among them. As Jon Hyman, labor and employment group partner at Kohrman Jackson & Krantz, explains in an entry on the Ohio Employer’s Law blog, one of OSHA’s provisions includes protecting employees who report and file workplace injury claims.

One such case, he says, involves Ohio Bell. According to the Cleveland Plain Dealer, the U.S. Department of Labor recently filed suit against the company, claiming that it wrongfully suspended 13 employees who reported workplace injuries.
