With federal officials eyeing regulations for electronic cigarettes, a major trade group for the e-cigarette industry has registered its first lobbyists in Washington, D.C.

The Smoke Free Alternatives Trade Association (SFATA), which represents more than three dozen companies, hired Blank Rome Government Relations to lobby on “[i]ssues relating to the regulation of vapor products,” according to a lobbying registration report filed with Congress Wednesday. But the paperwork doesn’t elaborate on the work the firm will be doing for SFATA.
