The Environmental Protection Agency published a set of proposed revisions and confidentiality determinations this week with respect to the Greenhouse Gas Reporting Rule, according to a recent post from Vory’s Energy & Environmental Law Blog.

Changes to the rule, which affects the petroleum and natural gas industries, would mean switching the units of measurement for greenhouse gases (GHG) from metric tons of CO2e of each gas to just metric tons of GHG. The definition of “Onshore Production Source Category” would include all equipment on or associated with a single well pad, and the calculation methods and reporting requirements for sources such as dehydrators, storage tanks and gas-venting equipment would be revised under the proposal.
