Hillel International—the largest Jewish campus organization in the world—is getting its first general counsel. Tracy Turoff has been appointed to the position, and will also serve as vice president, according to Kristen Mott in the Cleveland Jewish News. Turoff will handle all legal and compliance issues, as well as help establish and maintain relationships between the organization and its campus affiliates, and external partnerships, Mott says.

Turoff’s “Jewish identity leads her to be a positive force in the world,” Eric Fingerhut, the president and CEO of Hillel, told the CJN. The relationship between the two dates back 20 years, when Turoff worked as a legislative aide in Washington, D.C., while Fingerhut represented Ohio’s 19th Congressional District. “Hillel is such a meaningful organization. A really big draw was getting to work with Eric Fingerhut again,” Turoff told Mott.
