New York Law School launched an academic institute devoted to the issues facing corporate counsel. The Institute for In-House Counsel, an initiative that is the first of its kind in New York City, kicked off on Tuesday with a half-day conference held on campus in Lower Manhattan.

Speakers at the event shared their insights and practical advice about many of the topics most relevant to in-house counsel, such as maintaining good relationships with outside attorneys, staffing the law department and dealing with compliance.
