College Football Players

On March 26, the National Labor Relations Board ruled Northwestern University’s football players are “employees” and can form a union. Beatty says despite the uproar, the decision only applies to a handful of private institutions that field Division I football teams. He notes Northwestern has announced plans to appeal to the full NLRB in Washington, D.C.
