Premium cable network Starz Inc. has broadcast the news that industry veteran David Weil will be its new executive vice president and general counsel of business and legal affairs. Working from Starz’s Beverly Hills headquarters, Weil will be responsible for the company’s linear channels, affiliate negotiations, public company compliance management and distribution of its entertainment businesses.
“David is a talented and highly respected executive with a keen legal mind who has successfully dealt with issues and individuals at all levels of the entertainment industry,” Starz CEO Chris Albrecht said in a statement. “We are looking forward to adding him to our executive team and working together to continue growing the Starz businesses.“
