AMAG Pharmaceuticals Inc. has prescribed Robert Blood for the role of vice president of legal affairs and chief compliance officer, according to a recent statement. In his new position, Blood will be advising the company on the legalities of its commercial operations and research, as well as overseeing AMAG’s compliance program.

Blood will report to Scott Townsend, senior vice president of legal affairs, general counsel and secretary of the company, who praised his new hire’s “deep experience in the pharmaceutical and biotechnology industry and his knowledge and experience with the federal and state laws that govern the marketing and promotion of our products.”
