Mickey Osterreicher, the general counsel of the National Press Photographers Association (NPPA), on Tuesday headed for the front line in Ferguson, Mo., to help journalists there fight for their right to cover the unfolding story that began with the shooting of an unarmed black youth.

As the violent altercations between civilians and law enforcement entered their tenth day, Osterreicher set out for Ferguson. “There were a number of photographers detained again yesterday,” he told CorpCounsel.com midday Tuesday, after arriving in St. Louis. Ferguson is a nearby suburb.
