Attorney General Eric Holder Jr. announced earlier this month that West would be leaving, but didn’t say where the U.S. Department of Justice’s third-in-command was headed.
As our affiliate publication The National Law Journal reported, West has taken the lead in some of the Justice Department’s top priorities, such as helping negotiate the $16.6 billion settlement last month with Bank of America over mortgage-backed securities.
