In a speech Wednesday at the New York University School of Law, U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder provided a look back at the work the federal government has done prosecuting white-collar crime since the financial crisis of 2008, and called on Congress to offer whistleblowers who speak out against fraud at financial institutions more money as an incentive to come forward.

Holder made the request while addressing a packed auditorium at an event presented by the law school’s Program on Corporate Compliance and Enforcement and its Milbank Tweed Forum. He also called for the government to provide more resources to the FBI so the agency can get tougher on white-collar crime.
