Next time someone asks you to connect on LinkedIn, think about this: are your social media connections actually trade secrets? It’s an issue that recently was considered by a California federal district court.

In the case, a former employee of Cellular Accessories for Less Inc. was being sued for the misappropriation of trade secrets, according to Jennifer Rubin of Mintz, Levin, Cohn, Ferris, Glovsky and Popeo. The plaintiff alleges that the former employee took customer information and started his own business that directly competes with it.
