There’s some new legal energy over at Johnson Controls. The company, which optimizes the energy efficiency of buildings and car components, will be promoting Brian Cadwallader to vice president, secretary and general counsel, as of Oct. 1. Cadwallader will succeed Jerome Okarma, who is retiring after 25 years with the company.

The GC apparent has been with Johnson since 2010, most recently as vice president and assistant secretary. Previously, Cadwallader served as group vice president and general counsel of Johnson’s building efficiency business.
