Stephen Coates, Twitter Inc.’s first in-house trademark lawyer, says his department is already growing. He joined the social media company in March after leaving a similar job in Seattle with Amazon.com Inc. Now he helps Twitter protect its nest in the increasingly complex world of domain name registration and purchasing. He spoke with reporter David Ruiz.
