As global patent filings continue to increase and companies attempt to realize the full value of their intellectual property portfolios, in-house counsel worldwide are facing a host of challenges. Some are detailed in a new survey by the IP management and software company CPA Global Ltd.
According to the “2014 State of the IP Industry Survey” released Monday, 59 percent of in-house counsel said they are increasingly focused on aligning IP with the company’s business strategy. The survey also found that 49 percent felt more pressure to optimize and monetize their existing IP portfolios.
