As New York City confirmed its first patient with Ebola, signs that companies were increasingly worried about the impact of the disease on their operations flourished on Thursday and Friday, even as experts warned that their fears were out of proportion to the actual threat.

Companies were raising so many questions that as of Friday at least two Am Law 100 law firms—Reed Smith and Ogletree, Deakins, Nash, Smoak & Stewart—created special interdisciplinary teams to deal with Ebola issues.
