As 2014 draws to a close, it’s a good time to take stock of what corporate boards of directors look like today and how their work can be improved in the future. A recent survey from the National Association of Corporate Directors (NACD) talked to more than 1,000 public company directors and others who work with boards, uncovered some new data about trends and best practices in the boardroom, and found that these leaders have plenty on their plates.

“The 2014-2015 NACD Public Company Governance Survey,” the latest iteration of the group’s annual survey, provides a snapshot of the public company board in 2014, and explains just what it is that directors are most concerned about, from succession planning to technology-based risks.
