Has it really been 12 months since employers were preparing their applications for last year’s round of H-1B visas, the certifications that allow highly skilled foreigners to work for companies in the U.S.? The April 1 deadline to apply for one of these visas is almost upon us again. And if it’s anything like last year, when U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services received around 172,500 petitions for H-1Bs within the first five business days of April, there will be no lack of demand.

A recent webinar from management-side labor and employment law firm Jackson Lewis, “Preparing for the 2016 H-1B Cap Season,” provided some insights about the visa process and urged employers to get going now if they want to maximize their chances of securing an H-1B for workers they need.
