The way legal services are delivered to corporations is undergoing a change, as is the nature of the general counsel’s job. Many legal departments and their leaders are now shouldering more responsibility in-house than before, and at the same time they’re dealing with increased regulation and enforcement.
A new survey of general counsel from the Consero Group indicates that although law departments are getting more of the resources they want, they are also facing more risk. In other words, it’s both a good time and challenging moment to be a GC.
