Call it an asymmetrical book party, with more fireworks than planned. The book was “Disruptive Power: The Crisis of the State in the Digital Age” by Taylor Owen, and it didn’t turn out quite the way Owen would have wanted.
It wasn’t exactly a party, either. It was more of a book launch. There were several guest speakers on a small stage, books available in the back for sale and the requisite wine and cheese for refreshment. It seemed to be the setting for a cozy evening. But that atmosphere didn’t last long.
