Out from under the worst of its
 scandal-linked legal issues, News Corp. on Feb. 11 promoted David Pitofsky to general counsel and chief compliance officer. He succeeds Gerson Zweifach, who remains Group GC and CCO of Twenty-First Century Fox Inc.

News Corp., which announced the changes in an 8-K filing with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission, had kept Zweifach in both GC roles on an interim basis since he helped the two entities split in mid-2013. Prior to the split, News Corp. was the parent company.
