For in-house lawyers who want a better grasp on compliance issues, there’s now a MOOC for that. MOOC stands for Massive Open Online Course, an online educational experience—often run through a university—that allows anyone from anywhere to tune in and learn. Applying the format to a topic that’s front of mind for most corporate lawyers, Boston University School of Law has announced that it will offer the first-ever law school-run MOOC about compliance.
“Legal Risk Management Strategies for Multinational Enterprises” is being delivered in partnership with BU’s Digital Learning Initiative, and will go online in October through MOOC provider edX. For a fee, viewers will be able to learn about the latest legal issues in regulatory compliance, as taught by academics and in-house attorneys who grapple with risk management issues every day.
