Attention employers: there’s some new paperwork to add to the pile. The U.S. Department of Labor last month published updated model Family and Medical Leave Act notices and certification forms, and Mark Goldstein of Reed Smith says it’s time for employers to refresh their records.

“Employers using outdated FMLA forms need to update their FMLA document library as soon as possible,” he warns, especially since there are some “notable” changes. One is the disclaimer language in the “Certification of Health Care Provider for Employee’s Serious Health Condition” form, with respect to the Genetic Information Nondiscrimination Act of 2008.
