This article is the first in a new series for this column that will focus on interviews with various thought leaders about the compliance issues facing today’s companies. Andy Hinton, a vice president and the chief compliance officer at Google Inc., is our first interviewee. He is a smart, engaging, no-nonsense in-house lawyer with an infectious sense of humor. He is one of my favorite conference speakers, which made him a natural fit for the series’ first interview.

Before joining Google in San Francisco, Andy Hinton was an East Coast guy working in various compliance roles at General Electric Co., and he spent nine years as an Assistant U.S. Attorney in Brooklyn. He started his career as an associate at Cravath, Swaine & Moore, and is a graduate of Fordham University Law School and Harvard College. For more information on Hinton . . . Google him.
