What do the letters APT mean? How about the words pcap, whitelist or worm? These may sound like some sort of secret code, but they are in fact terms important to understanding the fundamentals of cybersecurity. Attorneys learn their own field’s lexicon in law school, but more likely than not they weren’t taught the language of online security.

A white paper from Guidance Software, “Cybersecurity Lexicon for General Counsel,” provides a reference guide for GCs who need to be part of the cybersecurity conversation, but may not quite know what all the words mean.
