There’s a new lawyer behind the camera of the Graham Media Group, owner of such TV stations as KPRC-Houston and WDIV-Detroit. Heidi Schmid Whiting has been named vice president and general counsel, effective Aug. 31. She succeeds John Ronayne, who has been appointed the company’s vice president and senior counsel.
“Heidi comes to GMG with a wealth of legal experience,” said Emily Barr, the company’s president and chief executive officer, in a statement. “Her knowledge of and practical experience working with cable and telecommunications businesses will prove extremely valuable to us as we continue to navigate the ever-changing landscape of broadcast TV.”
