What’s the best way to treat the other side at a deposition or court appearance? James Kravitz of Fox Rothschild says he recommends to his clients that they handle adverse parties as business acquaintances.

“This means saying hello, shaking hands and employing the normal courtesies and etiquette that people typically employ when they interact in a business environment,” says Kravitz. Though it can be difficult to, well, behave, Kravitz says hostile environments generally do not help a cause.
