It’s been a busy year for Simon Croxford, who’s slated to replace Barclays’ outgoing deputy general counsel Michael Shaw, according to Tom Moore writing in the U.K.’s Legal Business. We reported back in March that Croxford was promoted to general counsel for investment banking for the Europe and Middle East regions. He was previously the managing director and general counsel for the bank’s Asia Pacific region.

According to Moore, the role will be renamed GC of Group Centre Legal and will make Croxford the second most senior lawyer, reporting to group GC Bob Hoyt. Shaw isn’t the first high-profile lawyer to resign from the bank after its redesign of the legal department. Judith Shepherd, the global general counsel of corporate and investment banking, Jonathan Peddie, the global head of financial crime, and Erica Handling have all said their goodbyes.
