Pierre Gentin, the former head of global litigation and regulatory investigations for the Swiss-based bank Credit Suisse AG, was seeking “to grow” when he left nearly two decades of in-house counsel work behind and joined the litigation group at Cahill Gordon & Reindel this month.

“I had a fantastic career,” Gentin explains. “I had been talking to them about what my step would be for some years, for the last year or more talking with our chairman and my boss the general counsel, about doing something new. I ultimately concluded with their support and encouragement that the best next step” would be to become an outside counsel.
