It’s a new general counsel for Northwestern University. The school announced late last week that Jenner & Block partner (and Northwestern graduate) Philip Harris has been appointed vice president and GC of the institution. He’s set to begin the post Jan. 1 and is succeeding Thomas Cline, who is retiring after 27 years with the university.
“We are very pleased to have Phil join Northwestern in this important leadership position,” said president Morton Schapiro. “In his role as a trustee, we have already benefited from his thoughtful counsel on many issues, and now we will have the opportunity to get that on a daily basis.”
