Steve Sarkisian, the fired University of Southern California football coach, has filed what could be a significant case in deciding just what is a “reasonable accommodation” for an alcoholic employee.
As our colleague Jenna Greene reported Dec. 8 in the Litigation Daily, Sarkisian filed suit seeking at least $12.6 million in damages and claiming he was wrongly fired for being an alcoholic. The suit in California state court relies on state law, which essentially echoes the Americans with Disabilities Act.
