It’s no gamble for Troy McHenry, who’s been promoted to executive vice president, general counsel and corporate secretary of HCP, a real estate investment trust focusing on the health care industry. He’s been at the Irvine, California-headquartered HCP since 2010, after leaving MGM Resorts International, where he served as vice president, deputy general counsel and assistant secretary.
According to his LinkedIn profile, McHenry spent five years at Las Vegas-based MGM and before that was associate general counsel at Boyd Gaming. He’s also worked in private practice at DLA Piper, where he focused on general corporate, mergers and acquisitions, corporate finance and venture capital matters, among others. McHenry was a first lieutenant in the U.S. Army and holds a bachelor’s degree from West Point, a law degree from the Gould School of Law at the University of Southern California and a master’s degree from the Marshall School of Business/Leventhal School of Accounting at USC.
