Most companies that focus on intellectual property offer financial rewards to their inventors, but many don’t track key performance indicators to gauge quality, quantity and efficiency of those inventions, according to a new survey.

The patent program benchmarking survey, conducted by IP management and analytics company Lecorpio LLC, was designed to measure how companies reward and engage inventors. It found that 80 percent of the companies surveyed provide financial incentives to their inventors.
