The big question in the National Football League this week is whether the San Diego Chargers will choose to relocate to Los Angeles. A decision could come down later this week. But in the meantime fans might look at recent trademark applications to predict the football team’s future.

The team has applied for federal trademarks on the “Los Angeles Chargers” and “LA Chargers.” And the filings offer some clues about whether the move will happen, according to one trademark lawyer.
